Welcome to the Institute of Industrial Research (IIR), one of the 13 institutes of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). As Ghana's foremost industrial research and development Institute, CSIR-IIR with its unique combination of applied research and scientific instrumentation has a primary function to drive national development and global competitiveness in industry through scientific and technological research.

With its rich empirical knowledge generated by the many research and training programmes held at the Institute, CSIR-IIR is a diverse community of scholars dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding of industries’ most pressing challenges in ways that are relevant to today’s world while using the transforming power of science and technology for wealth creation.

The Institute remains a hub of vibrant research activities through Seven (7) core research divisions made up of specialist scientists, engineers and technologists who work in an interdisciplinary fashion with colleagues from sister institutes, private sector and a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
